Top 3 Videos der Woche: Puppy, Deichkind & Whitney

Heute gibt es mal wieder unsere liebsten Musikvideos der vergangenen Woche. Dieses Mal mit Puppy, Deichkind und Whitney.

Puppy – Poor Me

Sucht man nach Videos der britischen Band Puppy findet man vorallem auch Filmchen von süßen Hundewelpen. Darüber kann man sich schon mal nicht beklagen und hat man endlich die richtigen Musikvideos gefunden, gibt’s in der Regel auch noch einen Ohrwurm obendrauf! Das Video zur neuen Single „Poor Me“ aus dem aktuellen Album „The Goat“ wurde im Kollagen-Stil gedreht. Die Idee hinter dem Video ist allerdings komplexer, wie Drummer und Regiseur Billy Prince erzählt:

“Going into this video we wanted to try make a kind of nonsensical You Tube tutorial-cum-pound land Ted Talk. There’s a lot of content online (& elsewhere) that presents incredibly complex information as being very simple and easy. But, whether it’s taking apart a laptop with your bare hands, or curing insomnia through breathing exercises, a lot of these kinds of tasks are actually quite difficult to do. (…) with this in mind, we wanted to try approach the lyrical and tonal themes of ‘Poor Me’ with the energy of a Youtuber conveying wildly elaborate instructions to a totally confused viewer. The resultant video may not be of any practical use at all, but it might serve as some useful distraction. Or maybe even be somehow quite calming.”

Deichkind – Keine Party

Unsere liebste Partyband Deichkind hat heute ihre neue Single „Keine Party“ veröffentlicht. Der Track ist die dritte Single des am 27. September erscheinenden Albums „Wer Sagt Denn Das?“. Wie auch schon in den anderen beiden Musikvideos ist auch in diesem Lars Eidinger Star des Videos. Während der vier Minuten tanzt und jumpt Eidinger feierwütig und ungehalten durch Berlin und Umgebung. Nach Party sehen die Settings jedoch nicht aus. Lars Eidinger feiert mit „Keine Part“ definitiv raus und dafür ist der Song auch sehr geeignet.

Whitney – Used To Be Lonely

Die Band Whitney veröffentlicht mit „Used To Be Lonely“ eine neue Single aus ihrem kommenden Album „Forever Turned Around“, welches am 30. August via Secretly Canadian erscheinen wird. Die Single befasst sich mit der hoffnungslosen Verwirrung, die sich durch den ungeahnten und plötzlichen Lauf der Dinge einstellt. Der Mittelpunkt des Musikvideos, stellt eine Protagonistin dar, die man zu verschiedenen Orten in Chicago begleitet. Chicago hat einen besonderen Stellenwert für die Musiker Julien Ehrlich und Max Kakacek, denn es ist die Heimatstadt der Beiden. Regisseur Austin Vesely hielt in dem Video daher ganz besondere Plätze wie das Music Box Theatre und die Lake Michigan Küste mit der Kamera fest. Whitney erzählen zu ihrem Song „Used To Be Lonely“:

„This one started as a late-night jam session with the entire band and we kept the skeleton of the arrangement as a voice memo. We wanted this to be an emotionally direct song lyrically and once we came up with the title and hook, we were so excited. We wrote it in Wisconsin and we would drive around this small town blasting an early version of it.”
